new site for Klipsch

I'm known to be a Klipsch devote but only because I have never heard any of the higher end Polks. That said Klipsch used to have a site where you could listen side by side and compare any speaker you would want to get. EG.KG.4 VS Cornwalls,Hereseys VS KLF20S OR 30S RF32svs 42 vs 62s. Now this site is gone and seems to push all the newer products and there is a section on the discontinued models but it pales in comparison w/ the older site were you could line up these models and compare specs weight and color combos. I do not like this at all and when time permits as good as it will do I will lodge my complaint.
As for never hearing high end Polks I have no idea how this could have happened. Just one more thought about the SDA-SRS is it true that a jumper is needed between each speaker and then a lead to the amp. I live in Central Jersey so if any of you could direct me to a Polk dealer that has middle to top end stuff then I can compare w/ my Klipsch.....lw

Leftwinger, there is a cable that goes between the two SRS speakers. It is an absolute necessity for the SDA effect. Without the cable the speakers do not sound good.
There is no lead to the amp other than the regular speaker cables.
Best Buy has Polk Speakers, but they don't always have them setup real well.
Where are you in Central NJ? I am in Hunterdon County just outside of Clinton. -

WTF, how can you compare speakers from a website in the comfort of your own home? Specs don't really mean much at all, Ridiculous! Probably your most bizzare thread yet.

I haven't seen any of Polks better speakers in store in at least a decade. No Lsi's, no Rti's. Just Monitors, Tsi, and the old R series. I've always wondered how they sell any of them.
-
But, to keep it on point. It has become very difficult to compare speakers in a real live setting and Polks just don't seem to have the store presence they once had, they are not alone.
Sometimes you just have to do your research and take a leap of faith.

I will say considering how leftwinger likes to play his music loud. I would think Polk's would do a better job.
I do have a question for leftwinger, How could you listen to the speakers on the website? I am very confused by that statement. -

Hence my comment about it being his "most bizzare" thread yet.

I am trying to follow his train of thought but my head is starting to hurt.

I don't care for the sound, but I believe the Klipsch would play louder, and with less amp power. They are well known for their efficiency. -

I was thinking more about fatigue. Those Klipsch's played at high volume for any length of time will be more fatiguing than Polk's. And I like the sound of Klipsch speakers. -
heiny9,you just do not get me at all, I'm semi disabled so to run from store to store seems like an act of futility. With the comparison charts you can see how much they can handle, what the weight is ,what they are made of ,whether they are didcontinued and lots more info than you could possible get from a kid at Best Buy. For me this is the way to go and to say that this the most bizzare thread yet is laughable because I have had some real doozies. Go to the Klipsch site under archive and you'll see what I .mean Now about this jumper wire between the SDS how the hell do you hide this wire if it crosses a hall like my speaker runs do but I took them both the long way and nothing is seen. And Heiny how many speaker sets can you possibly take home at one time to compare between them. Maybe super higher end jobbers will lend a pair out but multiples, I have a hardtime believing that,,,Bizzare indeed.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

lw here at 08859 it's late now but I'll look up the zip code and maybe send a pm tomorrow if I know how to do it and maybe we'll conenct on some level.

Heiny9, If you go to the Klipsch premium speakers,go to products and scroll down to discontiued models you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.
This is for the speakers that are not made any more, but the site covers the whole line.
Even though your not a Klipsch devote you might find this interesting.If not then toss it.....LW2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

Go back and read the thread, including your own posts - if you can make sense of them. H9 called this your most bizarre thread based on the fact that YOU posted this:That said Klipsch used to have a site where you could listen side by side and compare any speaker you would want to get.
And then you throw out some randomness about SDA interconnect cables. Man, try to manage some cohesiveness in your thoughts, instead of just dumping everything that crosses your mind into one post. -
^^^ Sorry, had to get that out!

When I want to reconnect with H9, I usually just use a big ol' pair of car battery jumper cables. That usually fires 'im up.

~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

LW,
Lots of sights have areas for old products along with a marketing descriptions and specs. Polk does the same thing, only they don't list every single product in the archive. Not sure how this allows you to choose which one sounds best since the marketing department of whatever companies website you are on wrote the descriptions. I could see the dimensions and weight being helpful, but beyond that it's a company website, of course everything is going "read" like it's the next best thing since sliced bread.
Now I understand it's difficult for you to get out an listen. That is unfortunate because much of my listening experiences over the years have been at friends house's, local meets, regional meets as well as a few Polkfests, etc, etc. I am in this hobby so I associate with other hobbiests and thats where some of my speaker listening experiences come from. There are a lot of speakers I haven't heard because there just aren't any brick and mortar stores around anymore to go an listen.

I thought that I admitted I made a mistake as to listening to them rather than reading their spec sheets. SO ONCE AND FOR ALL I ADMIT IT WAS A STUPID MISTAKE ,BUT I DO NOT THINK ANY ONE GOT SERIOUSLY HURT BY IY.I MEANT TO SAY READING THE SPECS SHEETS ARE THE TO GO WAY TO GO FOR ME.
pLEASE EXCUSE THE CAPS BUT I HAVE TO MAKE THIS POINT VERY CLEAR,I DID NOT TAKE HOME SPEAKERS ,i printed out spec sheets oh please forgive me I do need your guys help most of the time.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

My puter skills are what's called lacking. If I was in school they would have passed me out of sympathy. There is a name for this and it's called social promotion. All other studies were A,and Bs but when it came to math I think I failed every class from the 4th grade on up. Never passed algebra1 and they did not know what to do w/ me. So an engineer i'm not, nice guy when not ragged on yes. check your other thread about this same topic, I answered there. I don't like multiple threads on the same topic, it gets damn confusing and confusion is running rampant lately.
