Polk Audio RTi A9 speaker spikes?

Does any know if you can get speaker spikes for the RTi A9, and how they would be fitted?

I have very uneven tiles in my lounge area - and would like this to balance it out.

You should have received spikes with the speakers (I did) if not call polk Customer Service I'm sure they can help you out..

I didn't - they were demo models, but sold as complete, I guess I'm not really surprised considering the service I received around the tweeters. (another thread)

I really regret supporting our local distribution channels (South Africa) and not importing directly - the service here is quite shocking.

The ones that come with the speakers are hard plastic type. You can order from Polk or go for the upgrade with these.

You'll need standard 1/4-20 size.

Not sure how much shipping is going to hit you for though.

Really? I may have to double check mine bro. It's been awhile since I have replaced mine. If they are of some other material, my bad. I almost thought for sure they were of some hard type plastic material.

Anyway OP you can't go wrong either way. I chose to upgrade so I could angle the speaker a tad more toward the 2nd row in my HT seating.

The spikes I received in my packet with the speakers included metal spikes and a instruction manual.

The original RTi A spikes are indeed metal, but I found them too short and stubby for use on carpet. In looking for something else I discovered that the speakers will not take most aftermarket spikes due the the recessed threads in the outrigger feet.

Thanks - I saw that recommended somewhere else... but am unsure as to whether they just screw into the bottom?

Agreed. The spike works with carpet, just not all carpet due to their size.

OregonDV used to offer a Polkie discount when he was a part of the original Cable Swap Program years ago but I'm not sure where they stand on it now. I would order from them over PE, if only because I've been treated well and better from that establishment.

The outriggers they sell are excellent and I've had a set for years, when they were still in development even since I have prototypes based off the Polk loudspeakers in his pictures. Wow....long time ago.

Maybe. One problem is the length of the thread. It needs to be long enough to reach into the recessed bottom of the outrigger type foot. Another issue with that spike is the width. It's too wide at the top, will stick out and look rather odd. The ones I provided a link to will work.

Yes, the thread is 1/4-20.

Missed your post somehow... The ones you posted don't look as good though... but I suppose I prefer functionality over looks

Are those adjustable, or do you just thread them to the required length?

It'll cost $14.50 USD in total to South Africa - not bad.

Believe me, they were not my first, second or third choice. However, they work and have no problem piercing carpet.

Yes, you can adjust them to level the speaker and then use the nut to lock in place.
