Bridging on 5-ways. plate vs wire.

I've noticed that a lot of folks use a short length of wire to replace the flat bridge on their 5-way binding posts.

It caught my eye when seeing this, the same fronts that I have...

Is there an actual advantage to this? If so, why? Are those plates just no as conductive as speaker cables? what eh deal?

thanks

PS - on a related note, does it make a difference which set I'm connected to when using a single pair of wires? Top or bottom? I would think not, but...

Those are Signal Cable jumpers. Frank will make any cable, any length so keep that in mind guys. He's made all kinds of custom stuff for me, so has MIT Cables.

    Alright. thanks.

But wait, is there something special about how those are constructed? I figured I'd just use some 12-gauge speaker wire and a few spades...

You could also do that if you're handy with a soldering iron. They're just better looking but still hand made.

I know everyone has their opinions but I think that set up looks retarded. Makes you wonder why they can't be switched internally when Bi-amping so you don't have to look at that rats nest.

I don't think its a rats nest Mark just not to my visual liking especially given the presumed cost of the wires. Not sure what those specific wires cost but for the cost of some (<2k$) you could easily devise a silver contact relay device inside the cabinet that eliminated the need for those LASSO'S hangin off the back of a set of cool speaks.

I've been working on a DIN type plug that eliminates the SDA cable and BI-amp look without making a donkey dick look to them. Easily eliminates the possibility of cross wires.

If I had my way in manufacturing the binding posts would be on the bottom and out of sight completely. I understand that isn't really critical to the SDA as the back wall is part of the effect so you have some options there to cover the wires.

Guess I did say rats nest lol. But I like the word lasso better hehe.

Alright, thanks. Yes, I can handle soldering, so I think I'll give it a shot.

Far as the aesthetics go, I don't really care, as it's in the back. That, and compared to the rest of the mess behind my setup, it's nothing.

LOL ok man, that's better. I think the jumpers from Frank are around $30.
