High on the vol scale

Hi guys, This is a new development in the ongoning saga between me and my Yamaha RX-V665. After the tongue lashing I got for pushing my amp at certain times ,your advice was to go 2-chll which I have done w/ much success. Now just today it seems that the vol scale is a little or more than a little off. I generally play t.v. at -23 and a little louder for music and if I want to carry on I'll go w/ the Adcom and the Infinity SM112S. Now it seems with out any distortion or any other malformity the volume scale is reading down to - 10 and lower. There is no negligble heat or any smell of any kind. Is this a burn in period for a 2 year old ss 90watt amp? I have no idea what is going on and as I said in the past if I even attempted this volume the amp would have clipped by now. Asking Yamaha is a lost cause so I thought you guys might have an idea.Again the vol levels have been under control since the 2-chll rig was up and working......lw

You have alot of issues with your rig. Are there any polkies in your area that could come help you. You should try asking that, so someone can come help put your mind at ease bro.
As for your question try a different source and see what happens there. Some sources are recorded at different levels than others, especially T.V programs.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

just another thought related to speakers. If I was to be as lucky as I was pickingup my Infinitys ,lets say there is a desperate dude moving to Europe and wants to ditch his Hereys or even Cornwalls(stranger things have happened). Now I have a small set of Klipsch satellites w/ a 8in pwrd sub. So the question begs, I know to keep the bigger Klipcschs' but do the rears match up w/ the fronts or will the timbre be so out of wack that I would need compatable rears.I did truely find pristine refoamed Infinity SM112s for$40.00.the very next town over and had no intention of to haggle w/the guy.....LW2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E
