Is Subwoofer output of Harman Kardon AVR-525 filtered or unfiltered ??

    Just took a look at your AVR's manual on-line and it looks to be filtered.

    Page 23 details the customizing of the frequencies sent to your mains, center and surrounds (default is 100 Hz). I would infer that the signal sent the sub is determined by these settings as well.

    Are you worried about the dreaded "double filtering" of your sub's signal?

    I am worried about "double filtering" low frequency signal from both receiver and powered subwoofer.

    If your sub has an LFE input, use it. It bypasses any filtering at the sub.

    If your sub does not have an LFE input, simply turn its variable filter to the highest frequency to eliminate the possibility of double filtering.
