Monitor Series question.

I am building a home theater with Monitor Series.. Got 70-s, CS2.. 60-s for front wides ( couldn't pass the 109.99 sale on newegg ).. stumbled on 2 old Monitors 8T 12040 sold locally for 50 bucks.. How would they blend as surrounds with the rest of the system? ( originally I was thinking of M50-s for this purpose). But if this work out fine then I'll definitely jump on them, they seem to be a better speaker than 50-s. My receiver is Integra 70.1.

Surrounds dont need to match the brand of the front 3 so your fine and they should blend just fine.....

Most would recommend bookshelves since you normally want the tweeter a foot or two above the listener.

But lots of folks have used floorstanders as surrounds and like them just as much.

So save some cash by going with them.....

I have TSi 500's as my surrounds and have no complaints. Before I got those I ran Monitor 40's as Surrounds, and they worked out very well there too.

Surrounds are best when timber matched, but it is not as critical as LCR.
