Two different AVRs responding to the same remote commands

briefly... I'm trying to run an older pioneer vsx1016 and an Eite AVR.

Apparently they run on the exact same remote commands... and it's a little annoying to attempt to adjust the volume on one to only have the other react in the same manner!

Anyone have any idea as to what I could do to stop this?

Better yet, why do you have 2 avrs in such close proximity that this even occurs ?

    Pioneer elite vhx 21
    Sony 4k BRP
    SVS SB-2000
    Polk Sig. 20's
    Polk FX500 surrounds

    Cables-

    Wireworld eclipse 7 ic's
    Audio metallurgy ga-o digital cable

    Kitchen

What tonyb said? Are you doing a side by side?

One is my primary AVR. The other is a secondary avr that is powering some bass shakers....

Just didn't know if there is a way to change how a remote talks to an avr...

Yes... this is the one option I came up with... but I'd like to have remote control over the second avr if possible

There is no fix for this... A model lineup will usually have the same remote control commands throughout.

Try a universal remote. there might be a code that controls the volume of the secondary amp, that the other doesn't respond to.

What about moving the bass shaker AVR to a different location, I'm going to assume that you turn the volume up and down on this unit to match what your watching, or if you have music in. If you have a near field sub, you could set it on top of that, or if you had a two tier end table you could set it on the bottom shelf, and manually control it, or just lean over and point the remote to it, lets call that the lazy way. Are you using this unit to do anything that your not telling us? For example, powering a 'b' set of speakers somewhere else?

Didn't you order like 6 or 8 bass shakers? Did you put a few on the bed also, for that magic finger touch when the mood hits? Nice......

Just to update this... Pioneer allows you to change a devices remote code thus allowing a to talk to only one device. It's in the set-up menu. Easy to do, problem solved.

And, yes, the bass shakers are still AWESOME
