satellite speakers for PSW111 subwoofer - TL or RM or other

I am just learning about subwoofers and satellite systems, but interested in upgrading my current 20 year old, low-to-middle end system. I am set on the PSW111, since I can get a good price on one. However, I am not sure which speakers would go best with this subwoofer - the TL2 or RM7 or RM8. Any suggestions for these or others in this price range?

This will be for a music system only, so only two speakers and the subwoofer. Also, I am looking for minimal clutter, thus the smaller sub and speakers that can be wall mounted.

Thanks.

Steve

I would vote TL2 over the RM's and I own RM series speakers.

TL2's would be much better for music in my opinion.

Hmmm, two votes for the TL2s. For the extra cost, what would I notice by going to the TL3s? Several people on this forum seem to think that they are pretty nice satellite speakers. I am not a real chaser of new technology, so whatever I buy, unless the sound is truly not great, will probably be my system for 5-10 years. Thus, the extra cost for the TL3s could possibly be rationalized if there is a noticeable difference.

+1! The RM7 and RM8 are IMO Polk's bottom of the crop speakers. Some to compete with cheap HTIB and IMHO this is all it is good for, low budget Home Theater experience. IMHO those speakers are useless for music. Never had the opportunity to try the TL2s yet but so far the comments are positive and Polk claims those small satellites to be a decent alternative to the clutter of big speakers. IMHO, the TL3 would be the better performer but if you are budget concerned, the TL2s would be worth a try.

While this product is still fairly new, many positive comments are starting to hit the net. I am convinced you could find more reviews on this site than already provided. Have a good search!

As far as your latest post (above) referring to TL3s over the TL2s, by the comments, the difference in technology used (ring radiator) seems to be the major difference. The TL3 is the closest in technology to the new LSiM flagship. Lets face it, you'll never get the same performance in a small speakers than you would in larger speakers but I bet the new TL3 could compete against many lower end tower and bookshelf without the foothprint and price tag. I suggest you search the site for the TL3s thread/comments as I provide you for the TL2s. IMHO, if you are talking 10 years of enjoyment, it is worthwhile to pay the extra cash.

Definitely TL series and if you can spare the extra coin, definitely the TL3.
