I want to know if vuze is really legal. I read forum saying that many subscribers are being complained for downloading movies. Is it really legal to use vuze?

Get rid of Vuze and use Utorrent, much faster software and not bloated like Vuze. I also suggest you Google "torrents", and decide for yourself if the use is illegal/legal.

Vuze itself is legal. What you do with Vuze may or may not be.

How do we know that the movie we download is legal from vuze? Some people only go to search box and type the movies they like then later they found out that there are compaints filed against them shown on vuze forum. Can vuze vouch for us whenever there might be some legal issues?

No. Vuze is not going to vouch for you. You would be safer assuming that they will throw you to the lawyers. And if it's any movie that has shown in a theater anywhere, ever, it's _probably_ illegal.

    Or TV shows

    Or ****

    Or pro sports

    Or NCAA sports

Basically, if it's not a home movie or clearly labeled by the original creator as free to distribute, it's probably illegal.

We pay for the vuze services which covers for the 3 years based on the promo shown on their website amounting to less than $100.00. How will we know then that if it is free or not?

I'm just going to go ahead and say it: Anything that you want to download is illegal. In theory, torrent software can be used to distribute legal content which is the only reason while the software itself is not illegal.

But go ahead. Name anything. It'll take about 2 seconds to say whether it's legal/illegal.

Thank you for your support. Can you have some time to go over this forum and tell me your comment later?

Yeah. Looks about right. Download a movie? Illegal. Get caught? I think it's $32,000 per instance. MPAA has been settling out of court for $1500-$5000ish recently, most people take it.

I'll say it again: Vuze is not a content provider.

    It's illegal.

That fact won't change however hard you try and however creative you get with the questions.

There's this website, www.google.com that can tell you everything you want to know.

    In summary, don't use Vuze:

1)It's stupid to pay for what it does, you can get better programs for free
2)How you plan to use it is probably illegal and you're clearly risk adverse

If you want to legally watch movies and videos on the internet, go to Hulu.com, netflix.com, or amazon.com. If you have Prime membership, amazon gives you a bunch of streamed movies for free. All three have their advantages and disadvanages.

@ get the idea that Vuze is legal?
I browsed through their products description and features list, not once did they claim they provide certain type of media content if you pay for the $25 subscription.

In other news, application subscriptions (paying for the right to use a certain app/program) is on the rise...

I will stop using vuze now. Although I paid for its services for three years, I will let it go. I dont want to be in trouble with the law just as seen in the legal threat in the forum attached above this page. It's too dangerous to keep the subscriptions.

If you want to play the game, you've gotta understand the rules.... reading up about torrent 'technolgy' would help (using encryption, etc).
