I think I will refinish my Polk RT7 in black lacquer any suggestions???
I already routed the sharp edges filled all the holes with bondo and sprayed one coat of flat black paint for first sanding!!! any more pointers!!! or just do a matte finish, which will be a easy way to do!!! I really love my RT7!! I Just might go full out!!! I will post pictures of process!!!

I contacted Joseph via email and he sent me these pics of his RT7 finish DIY. I think it turned out great.

Man at least on my phone those look pretty sweet. Always loved those bookies just not necessarily the boring look. Now they look much cooler!

Yeah, the RT7s sound great, but leave something to be desired with the factory finish, especially the front baffle. Considering that they image much better without the grills (IMO), filling the attachment holes was a no-brainer. ...and now they match those shiny subs pretty well!

Welcome back Joe. What's the complete setup these days? I'm running a pair of RT7's right now on top of a pair of PSW125's on amp stands, black diamond cones and neoprene between them.

    Cheers,
    Russ

thanks Russ, still use my beloved RT-7 as they are now piano black and look real clean on top of PSW-650 subs, I still have the RX-V1 gold Yamaha receiver, but I run the mains out to a real old dennon POA-2400 mod to 2 channel out puts, it had 4 before, this amp is unbelievable, this old gear still is good, I would put this 2 channel system against any mid price system, as I always said that the RT-7 need to have an accurate placement and focus just right, because of the narrow sweet spot, and the stereo subs have to be set just right and you have magic, but they are old and some day they will die!! I will be sad thanks Russ!!!!! ps; I will try again to post some pictures
