so my room is rougly 18x14 with a with an alcove in one corner, but the main area is with the given dimensions. ive been building my system up for a month and half now, the sound system any way. right now i have tsi 400's for the fronts, tsi 100's for the rears, and a cs10 center all hooked up to a pioneer 1021k reciever. So as you can see there is no sub mentioned. I had a psw110 for a few weeks but it felt underpowered at a wimpy 100 watts/200 max. So i returned it and am now have narrowed it down to a few subs, the micro pro 1000, the psw 505, and the dsw 500. Ive been leaning towards the 1000 for its power and tight accurate bass. Problem is I have no where to demo one, checked a bunch of stores in the area, and i managed to get a guy on youtube to make a demo vid, but it wasnt very good. Any other videos would be greatly appreciated! My main usage is gaming and movies, my problem with the psw 110 was that I couldnt properly set it up for music so i know the micro pro will get the job done, only question is how will it do with home theater and gaming? No matter what i end up doing i will eventually this year get a second sub

thanks!

    Welcome to Club Polk!

If you're mostly interested in augmenting your system for HT, I'd get a Polk DSW 600.

The MicroPro 1000 is a nice sub--I have one that I've reviewed and am waiting to send on its way. The 1000 is best suited for music (tight/deep/quick controlled bass) in a small to mid-sized room--not too big!

The 600 is perfect for a HT system in a room your size if you want to stay with Polk!

    Good Luck!

The 500 is a nice sub but the 600 reaches 5 hz lower at 25hz and that makes a difference for LFEs in movie soundtracks.

Having said that, certainly the 500 will be noticeably better than a PSW110.

For that price i would take a HSU or a EPIK any given day , and most of the guys around here would agree on that

I don't know how significant your discount is, but when I see the psw10 listed at $199 there I'd imagine the hsu's and svs's would be a tad out of your price range (mine too!)
