What gear to install in bathroom?

I'm looking for recommendations for an "all in one" type of unit for playing CDs and radio w/presets for a bathroom remodel. The only thing I have so far is some Polk in-wall speakers. We previously used an Audiovox (don't laugh!) shelf system that sounds way better than you'd think it would.Remote controlability is the only major requirement, plus, more WPC than the old unit, to drive the new RC85i Polks !

The only radio I know of that sounds decent for a bathroom is the Tivoli iPal bathroom radio. It has an aux input for an mp3 player.

I also know someone that used a Marine Car Stereo in his bathroom. Worked well and was real small.

Do you have a man-rack filled with Guns & Ammo magazines and Cabelas catalogs?

why not the isonic from polk? a lot of the guys here like them and say that it sounds better than the loathed bose waveradio.

just not sure if it plays cds? another option would be a nad or cambridge mini receiver that they offer it is very little and has cd player included, it would easily power your polk speakers.

    good luck.

You spend enough time in the bathroom to justify the cost of a sound system? Just being nosey.
If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

How about the mini system Sony that Doro has in the FM?

Denon used to make a pretty cool one, too.

Installing a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub for my wife to soak her tired bones in and I like to sing along with the Allman Bros. when I shower. The "system" won't exceed $600.00 (polks were only $149.99 from Newegg)I've looked at an NAD an Onkyo which range from $150.00 to $400.00 I think there's also a Denon that might work too. The old faithful Audiovox was only approx. $125.00 at Target.

That's a nice system for a great price but, it's way too big and the speakers would go to waste. This Onk is more what I need/want sizewise and with 20+ WPC:smile:

I'd go that route IF I knew anything about MP3/Ipods etc. etc. :frown:

Actually I have a great idea. Just order the toilet seat that allows you to insert SD cards for mp3 playback. It not only plays music but it will turn on to heat your bun when your in range of the sensor, it will clean your rear when your done, it has the soft touch lid and never slams when closed, has an auto clean feature activated after every use, and more. The only thing you need to add is the magazine rack or just carry your e-reader in, done deal.

I can send you one if you decide to go that route. Mine does all of the above minus the MP3 player.

How about a different approach. Do you have a 2 ch system in the master bdrm? Does the amp have a B speaker connection? Wire your in-wall Polks into this, pickup an IR-RF repeater & you're in business.

The only A-B unit I have is in a different building, the wife won't use anything that's not extremely simple to operate, anyway.Therefore......my best stuff is safe from misuse ! I've pretty much decided on an onkyo.
