I'm looking for a SL6501 (BD0122) trilaminate dome tweeter. This model was used in several models including the RT7 bookshelf and the CS350 center channel speakers.

If you have one you can part with, please respond.

Thanks,

Terry

Thanks. I've seen their ad for the SL6001 and have nearly bought a pair to replace the original SL6501 tweeters. I wonder what the difference is between the two models?

I will contact them. Thanks again.

well i would only replace with the same...although some of polk tweets(just throwing out numbers here) 6501 would have the same tweet as 6502 only the 02 model has a bucking magnet(shielding) like i said just throwing out numbers but some are like that. you will get better answers buy calling Polk CS

Yes, my hesitation is that I really want the original part. I will try Polk CS to see if they can explain the difference.

    Thanks again.

FYI... I just spoke to Polk CS about an RT7 replacement tweeter. They have part# SL6508 listed as the replacement part for the RT7. Of course, the tech on the phone couldn't explain the difference between the SL6501 and the SL6508, just that the engineers say it's a suitable replacement. He did say that the SL6001 wouldn't be suitable for the RT7, because it is from the LS series, however he didn't have any tech specs to back that up.

If I were to replace with the SL6508, I would still want to replace the pair and at $70 apiece club price it is hardly worth it.

I haven't found one yet. I'm expanding my search to SL6508 and any other compatible SL65xx tweeters.

I've got a pair of 6501's I'll let go for $60 shipped. I pulled them from a pair of RT20p's about a year ago.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I'll take them Russ. Please PM your Paypal address.

I suppose I should let you know that this means I won't be selling you my extra RT7 I got from HTguru. ;)

I've been watching Ebay like a hawk for months, with no sign of an SL-65XX tweeter, so I bumped this yesterday. I just scored a pair on Ebay this morning. Funny how stuff works!

    Thanks for looking.
