Here, hold mah beer!

I'm all for fun and games, especially on holiday weekends. Thing is though, safety is a concern. Neighbor kid was just taken to the hospital to have his hand put back together 'cause he stole his older brother's fireworks and was messing around.

Y'all be safe now, ya hear?

4th of July ain't no fun in an emergency room.

I mean, yeah, we live in such an awesome country that we celebrate our birthday by cooking raw meat over open fires, drinking ourselves silly and blowing stuff up...not necessarily in that order either! That doesn't mean we can't be less stupid about it.

So if you're drinkin', don't drive.

If your blowin' stuff up, use a loooong match.

If your cookin' burgers on the grill, remember, flip once!

Above all, have a spectacular weekend, an obnoxiously happy 4th of July and stay safe!

Happy Birthday, U.S.A!

And here's a hot rod and a battleship because...because it's a battleship and a hot rod, do you need another reason?

I mean, really, look at them!

And here's the American Trifecta. An apple pie with a baseball bat and glove on an American flag.

That picture of the Capitol and the Washington Monument is impossible and an awful photoshop.

We're packing the tent, cooler, and about 75 mortors up right now, celebrate America by blowing a piece of it up this weekend! (but not yourself)

Have a safe and happy 4th, as jstas said, if your going to be drinking, don't be driving!

SD is heating up this weekend - time for cold beers, 'grilling' some meat, tunes on the rig, and enjoying the view from the back porch

    Thanks.

That is a morning sunrise shot from my back porch looking down onto the Penasquitos Preserve - the tree line borders a creek that runs the length of the preserve going to a mid-preserve waterfall before running on to the Pacific.

Coyotes, bobcats (saw one just past my fence), deer, rabbits, hawks, snakes, scorpions, cranes, ducks, horseback riders, hikers, bikers....endless show all day long...

They outlawed fireworks down here. Guess I'll have to turn off the lights and short a couple of wires to get some sparkies.

    Ya'll have a goodan.

OK, half nekkid chicks are nice but that wasn't what this thread was about. So, thanks for that I guess.

I don't care how it's spelled. It's slang. It's also a contraction of the words you and all. "ya'll" does not make any sense grammatically. Like "ain't" it's a contraction of two words that do not exist. So maybe, in some slack-jawed, backwoods way it's spelled "ya'll" but I spelled it y'all, a contraction for the words you and all. I'll keep spelling it my way, y'all can keep spelling it wrong. This has been a message from your miserable, unfriendly grammar ****.

As far as my original post, the neighbor kid got lucky. Still has all his digits but it requited 78 sutures to put his hand back together. He has some tendon/ligament damage that they couldn't repair too. He has at least 6 months of healing and a year worth of skin grafts to fix the burned tissue. He'll have permanent scarring that will likely never go away completely. He's only 10. Hope he learned his lesson. Gonna suck having to learn how to write with the other hand.

Be safe folks, fireworks are pretty but they are still explosives.
