For sale is a Technics SU-V85A Integrated Amp 120 WPC X 2 I recently picked this amp up along with a matching CD player and after trying other amps with the CD player I have decided to sell this amp and keep the CD player. It is a very nice sounding amp in very god condition the only issues being some light scratches on top from other gear being stacked on it, the scratches are only visible when looked at from the right angle.
It has several inputs including a phono section and CD direct bypass which does make a difference when utilized, a headphone jack and many other features. The operators manual is included.
$150.00 +shipping

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all

Too cheap? I can always raise the price  I would have thought this would have sold in 30 mins or less, your not going to find another amp this nice with all these features for this price. Here is one on Ebay in the UK that is pretty trashed with one set of inputs destroyed and the bidding is allready at $80.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/TECHNICS-SU-V85A-120WATT-RMS-PER-CHANNEL-TOP-AMPLIFIER-/250843415948?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers&hash=item3a676ec58c

snow what does it weigh? If it is as heavy as my suv-909 I wonder what it would cost to ship, and where would you be shipping it from? I love my technics gear I have a pair of vegas I would hook to this they sound great on my 909 but have my ar's hooked up to it right now. I see it has the voltage selector in the back must of come from overseas by military personal. wonder if it was manufactured in the 80's or early 90's.Home Theater

This sale is cancelled, after further extended listening and trials of all the inputs I have noticed that the left channel fades in and out at will on some of the inputs so I cant in good faith sell this as a perfectly good working amp.
I am certain that what it needs is a good cleaning of the various pots and switches to restore it back to the way it should be, I have several older intregrated amps that have the same issue with dirty pots and some day hopefully I will get around to deoxiting them.

I was still on the fence debating about purchasing this I figured after the holiday weekend if it was still available, I probably would of went for it, have you been on the vintage technics gear web site there is very cool info on all the old technics stuff, if you get this up and running it will be a good integrated amp to purchase.Home Theater

Too bad there. That's a nice piece. I have a smaller less powerful Technics integrated from that period and it sounds 'better' than it should. I'm sure this unit blows mine away!

Well I spent some time the other day cleaning the various pots and switch contacts and the problem has dissappered but I want to let it run for a few more days before I declare it resolved. Damn I swear it even sounds better now too
