I have a small C-Drive and a 1-TB I drive in my otherwise kick **** computer. My C-Drive is full and causing me major issues with a ton of room on the other drive. I've tried to move filed to the other drive but it won't let me do it for many files, and I don't know what the hell the others do.

Is there a way to easily fix this? I can't even get current Windows updates. I am running Win 7.

You have to get the personal files (e.g. music, pictures, videos) off of the primary drive. Redirect programs like Internet Browsers, iTunes, etc., to save downloaded files to your secondary drive.

Consolidate your personal files and move 1 big folder at a time.

    TB drives are cheap.

Use a program like Acronis True Image and copy the C drive image to a new bigger drive. Replace the C drive with the newly imaged drive, and it will boot right up with all the added extra space desired.

Audiocr that helped a little bit but eegle is probably right I might just need to breakdown and buy a new C drive. The thing I hate is that C drive I have is super fast SSD. I thought there might be a way to partition part of my other drive off and allocate to C?

Anyway any recommendations on a very fast 1TB drive? I don't want any further roadblocks if I shell out cash. The rest of my system is top notch.

Depending on what files your trying to move bro. If your trying to move anything in "My Documents", photos , etc it will require registry edit and folder setup on the secondary drive. If the primary drive is small ( mine is 128 gb SSD), then you can opt for larger drive.

Samsung F3 drives are cheap and fast.

    1tb

320 which is perfect for primary drive

If your ready for speed improvement then go for SSD for OS only, use secondary for programs, and a third drive for your media.

Thanks Sherardp. I ordered the 1TB drive. I already have a Belkin cable so will use that for the transfer once that drive shows up.

Excellent bro, hopefully it exceeds your expectations. I have mine as a secondary drive in my rig running programs I don't want on my SSD, and it performs very well. Benched against the WD Caviar Black, they are pretty close performance wise.
