That's the U.N.'s M.O. Give 'em a chance to play nice. When they don't, beg the U.S. to step in and clean up the mess while they trash us behind our backs.

I think you are wrong on that John... the M.O. is to stack the UN with as many anti-American/capitalist types as it can so that they can take punitive action against those nations for causing all the world's problems(global warming/famine). Through a new doctrine called the "Resposibility to Protect"(their justification for war in Libya) the UN has become dangerous and stupid enough to think they have a right to use war as a tool of diplomacy. If they get enogh loons appointed to do it, I would submit that they would try using such action against us if we fail to submit to their will.

After all, they now have a duty to protect us from ourselves, and to protect the world from the evil that is the western way of life.

You know what? In the "Global Neighborhood", the U.S. is Ned Flanders. No matter how many times it gets dumped on and abused, it clings to it's basic ideals and is always willing to help clean up the mess or fix a problem or just offer some advice.

And in the school yard of anywhere on earth, how long does it take Ned Flanders to get the $h!t beat out of him? If we are good old Ned, I fear we are setting ourselves up for a beat-down. This is why I feel that we should leave the UN, and see who stands with us. Then we will see who our frinds are, and more importantly, who the enemy is.

I dunno Cnh, I don't think John's view is too far off. The west has never been in favor with the U.N. unless they want money from us. Seems lately every policy they try to shove on countries has to do with giving themselves power to overide, or regulate other countries activities, while collecting more coin for themselves. America is the demon, capitalism is the demon, and to get rid of both would be just fine in their eyes. One has to look not at words, speeches, but at ones actions to determine true intent.

This document lays the foundation under which the U.N. is preparing for war any where and at any time they feel the need to intervene in the affairs of a sovereign nation under the auspices of protecting civilians from harm. Their own words, not mine. I believe that there are more sinister intentions, such as being able to defend their power when the "New World Order" comes to pass.

It is chilling to me as an American citizen to see my tax dollars spent in this way, and worse, knowing the command of U.S. soldiers, airmen and sailors can be subborned to foreign leadership to conduct these illegal activities. The argument being used currently to keep our forces illegally engaged in(against the war powers act) Libya rests within the "authority" of this document.

The UN is a huge problem. This document males it their MORAL OBLIGATION to declare war! This is truly scary crap, and again... the words are their own.

Time to pull US funding before this goes way too far and they start WWIII.

Looking at your gear list, I just want to inform you that you are not in compliance with U.N. guidelines for home energy use, you must either buy 1000 bucks worth of carbon credits, or we will have to confiscate some of that gear.:biggrin:

Sounds crackpot-ish doesn't it ? But thats the direction your headed in folks.

I would also encourage anyone to google "agenda 21", read up on it,who is part of it, and how right now, most likely in your town, this U.N. initiative is being implemented under different names. Then tell me what you think the U.N. intent is.

Thanks Tony... I brief overview of that document lays the foundation of NAFTA, the boom in "outsourcing" and a few other things that have harmed our economy. The more I learn, the more I become convinced that what happens in D.C. is just a puppet show to keep us distracted while all the real BS takes place behind the curtain. Time to shed some light on things and watch what direction the cockroaches scatter.
