Read about the French a little more than you obviously have. Maybe start with the French resistance during WWII.

Um yeah... the Magineau Line worked quite nicely.

The number of French that capitulated and went with the flow outnumbered the resistance by like 150 to 1.

Besides that, this thread is about coffee and if the frenchies are good for something it is food. I am not a coffee fan, but my wife loves this kind of brew. I just wish I could make it for her at home. Any tips on getting it right?

Auto drip is the usual daily coffee habit/fit however, expresso is a great occasional threat from the office De'Longhi Series espresso machine, hummmm!

Capresso 565 burr grinder between coarse and medium
(great grinder for a little over $100)
and Bodum french press - single 2 serving size depending on
whether it's just for me or for the wife as well.
... and lighten with a few ounces of goat milk - if you like the
tast of goat milk, nothing else will do.

I use Starbuck's glass press with the all metal plunger, the only time there's grains/mud at the bottom is when I pour the last cup. Cheaper presses, such as the one with the rubber gasket around the plunger, always have grains or mud at the bottom of every cup.

    Any AeroPress fans out there?

This pretty well puts a press pot to shame.

....if only we could direct where that hair grows, then I'd be all in. Personally, I try and stay away from anything with the word "french" on it, well, almost everything. French fries and French wine, other than that, F the French.

Kinda surprised to see how many use a press for their morning joe, I may have to give it a whirl, maybe find an "italian" press.

Can always count on you John.

I'm a coffee addict, I'll admit it. Could drink it all day/night and sleep like a baby. From what I understand, a french press is just too much work for the amount of coffee I drink. Would love to have one of those automatic expresso makers though. Push a button and bam...hot creamy expresso in 30 seconds. One of these days I'll pony up for one, unless any of you guys have one to sell me that your not using...hint..hint.

You could always get a Bialetti Mukka Express. You can make Latte's or Cappuccino's.
