Is it better to run my subwoofer on the LR speaker outputs or the usual sub out? And running 6 ohm signal to a 8 ohm speaker is safe? I can hear a huge difference by doing so but i'm afraid to overload either the receiver or the speakers but I don't play my system at a stupid level though. I have rtia1 speakers for LR and swapping my original rm6750 satellites for center and surround for other pair of rtia1 for surround and a cs180 for center.

Leave you receiver on the 8 ohm setting, as far as the sub connection goes, either way is ok, you just have to calibrate them differently.HT SYSTEM-

What do you mean calibrate differently? I ended up trying both ways but the bass in general sounds stronger and clearer if hooked to the LR terminals. The downfall of this is that on my receiver i can't use the extra bass switch. At what frequency my crossover should be for the amp. For the 6 ohm impedance well i'm still confused cause on some sites they say that doing so is harmless for both the speakers and the amp...from trying both i can say that running on 6 ohm, the sound comes out in a better quality but i don't want to void my warranty. I wonder what polk audio says about that? Thanks for your time guys.

If you have a selection switch (4or8ohm) what that does is increase the voltage going to the output transisters thus making it more safe , I was told the 4 ohm setting is safer for the amp , that came from a friend that rebuilds and designs amplifiers for 20 years .
My setup has a externall prosound amplifier and a externall 2-way crossover feeding the subs and the mains . I have a older non adjustable sony avr so this sounds best (for me) I was advised to update to a newer unit that has adjustable crossover points within the AVR and dump the externall X/O .
So is your sub passive ?? if so what externall amp are you using ?? -
I have a yamaha rxv371 receiver and it comes with a crossover frequency switch that goes from 30 to 200 mhz. For the sub: i have a psw 125

Use the subwoofer output or LFE output. Speaker level connections are for old people. I'd also leave the switch @ 8ohms. All this information comes from my friend, who is 500 years old, builds nothing and is actually an apparition, as he moved beyond the tangible human flesh idea 20 years ago.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Yoda says LFE best!
8 ohm good, too!
