I will no longer accept gift payments for anything I sell or modifications as Paypal is saying they will charge my fees regardless and would disable that feature for me.

Thanks for understanding Polksters!

I always pay the 3% to avoid the bs. The gift option was being abused.

When you think about it, you are allowed so much $$ as "gifted income" by the government, so I guess it is mainly Paypal wanting their share more than anything.
I could be wrong on this and maybe someone can chime in to clarify.
I know there is a clause for family gifts for sure.
I am sure Paypal has to pay taxes on income like anyone else, so they are just being a$$whipes about it!

When someone uses the gift feature alot of the times you have to pay 1.5%

I only have my CC linked to Paypal. No way I will EVER give them access to my bank account. When I send a gift payment they charge me anyway. So now sending it to you is going to cost double - half you pay and half I pay? Not a big deal since I am perfectly willing to pay the 3%. Still, seems a little odd that they would prevent you from receiving gift payments.

I think WagnerRC got it right, people were abusing the gift option. Why do some folks think they should get everything for free?

Oh BS. If it was a flat fee to do an electronic tranfer, that would be one thing, but tell me how they should be entitled to get 1.5-3% of everything.

I won't use the bastads just for that simple fact. F#ck 'em...

Or when you get ripped off and cant file a claim because the money sent was a gift, not payment for goods.

I also like adds where cheap a55 people say add 3% for paypal. Just figure it in with the sale price and don't squeek when you walk.
