I've been perusing Craigslist locally since I asked about amps for my RTi12's. I must if in an area pretty poor for home audio considering all I ever see are car amps!

Anywhere from 150 watts and up. 100 watts will not open up those speakers enough.

Like dekuda said, 200 seems to be the number people around here throw around.

Weird, I don't know why I didn't get notified of a reply to this thread. I'm in Spokane WA.

just keep searching on CL, you will find good deals there. I recently bought a HK PA5800 5 channel 80WPC and HK Signature 2.1 5 channel 100 WPC for $150/275. Plan to use the Signature 2.1 to biamp my RTI8s, not sure what to do with the PA5800 yet.

Crack open the crossover, solder in another binding post and triple amp the RTI8's? ;)

I suppose 8 x 35w isn't much even if you can bridge the adjoining terminals..

Just buy the amp from Audiogon and be done with it. Check our market here, maybe something in there as well. There are a few Emotiva amps on Audiogon in the $500.00 price range.

you need a carver pm 1.5 rebuilt with poly capacitors , 450 watt 8ohm to move those bad boys.i used to use that . i got lsi15 now, i did try my parasound 2250 and they moved them. but i recommend 400watt and up for the rti12's they are hungry.

Bought an Adcom GFA-5500, seems to do pretty well so far, even with "only" 200w continuous. But I don't listen at really high volume levels either.
