PSW505 or Bic PL-200??
Hey guys, I am looking to buy a sub to match with my Monitor 40's (fronts) and my CS20 center. I would use it mostly for music (probably 90/10 split for music vs anything else) and i can get the 505 for $250 and the pl-200 for $285 so price isnt really a big deal. I just want what will give me the best bass for hip-hop and party type of music

I'd go with the 505 personally.

I would say the psw505 is going to be the more musical out of the 2 and the bic will go lower for movies

I can't speak for the 505 but I do own the pl-200. As mentioned above it does very well with HT, for the price. I can't stand it for music though, I listen to hard rock mostly. The Bic comes across inaccurate and a bit sloppy for the music I like. I'm new to this so bare with my terminology - the bass seems to hang around too long and does not transition into the next note quick enough. With music some detail gets lost. This is just my opinion and some other factors may be playing into this(corner loaded). Hope this helps & good luck

That Dynamo would be a great musical sub for that price, if it is in as great as shape as described. Shipping costs look pretty good for a sub as well. Seller has good looking feedback, but something about the English in the first description makes me a little questionable about it, but then in the second part it sounds like someone totally different wrote it. -
I have a PL-200 and am very happy with it for HT use. It does lack a bit in music as others have stated. I usually run just straight stereo and the pure audio option on my Onkyo. I have read over on AVS that some folks either knock off a couple DB of gain in their AVR or slightly turn down the amp when listening to music. From what they say over there it seems to help clean up music a bit.
Find where the PL-200 wants to live and it'll shake the walls with nice tight hard hitting bass. Keep in mind I have mine sitting on a "Subduded". I've had a couple of people ask that I supply kidney belts next time they are over for a movie.
I do have a DSW Pro500 sitting here. I'll have to swap it in and see how it compares to the PL-200. Have a feeling the Polk sub will do better for music.
