correct crossover frequency???
Hi all
Im using TL250 (Lower -3dB Limit 125Hz dB) speaker system with energy EW-100 sub (29Hz-120Hz ?3dB ). I want to know what should be the correct cross over frequency for my sub.Currently it set up at 120Hz but i read here somewhere that most people have these set at 80Hz.. so im little confused.I want no gap in frequency range to get the best out of my system.
There is also a turnable knob that says "variable Lowpass (Hz)" on the rear of sub that can be set between 40-120.What is the purpose of that if im setting the frequency in my receiver? where should i leave that on?
Thanks
any help will be much appreciated.

The Blackstone manual says to set it at 120Hz. A crossover of 80Hz is more for floorstanding or larger bookshelf speakers.
Most sub woofers ignore the variable lowpass when hooked up using the sub out on the receiver to lfe input on the sub (I am not sure about your sub). The variable low pass is there incase your receive does not have any options for bass management. -
thank you..im going to leave it on 120Hz then.
