Best time to buy tv?

I've read where April and Dec are supposed to be best time to buy new tv's. We're remodeling and it's a good time to upgrade our kitchen to the 26" range LCD or LED. Now I'm wondering if we should wait for a "better" time to purchase.
What do you think?

For a smaller unit like that I would head down to Walmart on the 4th.
That said the best time I have found is around the Superbowl. -
for places like Best Buy (i work there part time...but not for much longer) the new models are out between the end of February and the middle of April and the older models and display units are reduced dratically

The best time to buy is when they are on sale! <jk>
Seriously, for the smaller (under 40"), low technology sets like you are talking, there is probably not much variability in pricing. They tend to be priced with very low profit margins in the first place. Any pricing difference is probably not enough to worry about. Just look for a decent sale over the 4th. Don't forget to look at online stores as well. Amazon, Frys, Vanns, etc. -
Basically you just have to wait until there's a good excuse for a high profile sale, like the superbowl or clearing out old stock as mentioned above or during the black friday season.
If you can wait, I would. Especially with things like electronics. Whatever is sold now as state of the art will be old news by next black friday-April. So if you're thinking of waiting, it's a good bet that whatever set you're looking at now will be much cheaper if you can get to next fall/winter. -
Also, look for combo deals if you're buying at a time like black friday. Not sure what's offered in the 26" range, but in the past, you might have found places willing to throw in a blu-ray player etc. to get you to buy some of the larger sets.

I bought my VT25 that was being cleared out for 1100 bucks lol. Sometimes Best Buy does good things. -
If you have a set of models you are looking at, you can search some of the deal sites (dealnews.com, bensbargains.net, dealighted.com to name just a few) for recent specials. This can give you a good idea if the current pricing is decent. If you are ordering over the internet, you probably can find good deals anytime of the year.

Thank you all for the insights. I am a daily dealnews checker, but had not heard of some of the others. We do have a model or two in mind and will compare online to our local Sams Club and Costco stocks.Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend.

Best time to buy...when you have the cash.Do you hear that buzzing noise?

Anytime is the answer....and with technology it just always gets cheaper and better w/time.
Do your online research and zero in the make and model that fits your requirement.
Use Google Shopping, to find lowest price from a reputable source.
Or hang out in the deal forums like slickdeals.net till the ultimate deal comes by.SDA SRS 1.2
