Just got a pair of monitor 10a's from a friend of mine with the peerless tweeters. one of them has completely seized midranges. I was wondering if i can order new ones from polk. The one that works is hooked up in mono currently to a harmon kardon 795i and  i'm in love! just need to get new midrange drivers for the other one. Thanks

What is the MWxxx model number from the back of the drivers?Political Correctness'.........defined

looks like 6503's are the closest thing i'm gonna be able to get. how bad would it be to have the 6500's in one and the 6503's in the other?

I'd be inclined to go "2 and 2" for the sake of uniformity/balance. Have you given any thought to repairing the frozen MWs?

First off, kudos on having mastered search right off the bat... that took me months... you'll be popular around here. I think 6503's are about your only option since they're available from Polk customer service and are fairly plentiful on ebay. I doubt it would sound terrible with 6500's in one cabinet and 6503's in the other, but I think it's a safe bet that 6503's all around would sound better. Or you could wait and watch for MW6500's to pop up on ebay (I've got a saved search that emails me on "Polk MW") or see if you could score another pair of similar vintage 10's on Craigslist.
Good luck! -
ONE OF EACH IN EACH CABINET:biggrin:
Might do that cuz of low funds. Gotta order a bunch of new parts for a bike first.
