Standard Carver power cable to IEC?

Has anyone done this? I s there a benefit to it? And cann anyone recommend someone who can do this in a quality manner if it is beneficial.

    I know I've seen at least two members with modified IEC to Carver units. I think it's a must do modification since it's not that hard and opens up a whole plethora of options after that.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I can't speak specifically to Carver, but have had standard power cord connections replaced with quality IEC females on an NAD receiver, NAD amp, VTL amp, NAD preamp, Conrad Johnson preamp, Kenwood tuner, Fisher tuner and Conrad Johnson Sonographe CDP.

    I have about a dozen good to very good power cables I can roll and have experienced audible improvements on everything but the Fisher tuner.

    When I started the process I made the assumption that source components would be impacted the most, but have found the cords to amps also make a difference.

    Even after new dedicated circuits, quality PS Audio outlets and a power conditioner, the IEC cords make a difference. The most notable for me has always been a reduced noise floor. Other subtle changes in overall tone, improved bass, focus and soundstage can be noted with different cables.

    Overall, I favor my MIT IEC's over the rest.

    While they are not a Carver shop per se, Bill Thalmann here http://www.musictechnology.com has done a lot of work for me and they should be fairly close to you shipping-wise. The installation of an IEC is a pretty basic "Electronics 101" task.
