LSi owners question -
Have you guys ever considered moving the bass driver from the bottom to the top?
Just curious
Just curious
- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I've never thought of it. Should be simple enough to test out. Flipping the entire speaker upside down and swapping the L and R should produce the same effect as swapping the connections to the crossover.
Report back with your results if you decide to try it -

Trey, kind of off topic, but what do you think about making an internal "point to point" crossover for the LSi9 and bypassing the big 260 cap?
-
i think this speaker could be awesome as a straight two way that bottom midbass just tries to do way to much which leads to atonal bass and muddy midrange... Imo- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Conrad - would you be down for a listening session tomorrow if you are free?
I would like someone with some LSi9 speakers as well to bring em over to A/B...
Thoughts?- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

Want to design a new x-over, this should get you started.

Would be interesting to try...
I am no crossover designer - I just like to mess around with stuff!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Depending on what Polk designed the optimum listening axis to be.It's possible that swapping positions may be benifiicial if it then puts your ears closer to the optimum axis.Conradicles wrote: »Trey, kind of off topic, but what do you think about making an internal "point to point" crossover for the LSi9 and bypassing the big 260 cap?

Fred, I believe he means bypassing the electrolytic cap with a film cap."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Doh:redface:.Thanks Mike.Bypassing and removing are entirely different things are'nt they. But in that case I would not expect anything transformational. -
Yeah I think we should just plug the amp straight into the drivers!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I did it to my LSi25s when I did my crossover mods and I don't regret it a bit. My ears are a lot closer to the plane of the lower drivers, so having the midrange there makes more sense.- Computer Rig -
