RM7300 Satellite Set Resale Value?

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time posting to this forum, it definitely looks like the right place to ask this question...

What do you think a reasonable resale price would be on a full RM7300 satellite system?

The system in question is in excellent condition, there are a few minor scratches on the subwoofer, but no damage to any of the speakers. And I still have the mounting brackets for attaching the speakers to the walls.

The original MSRP was something like $1500, I was gonna shoot for $750 obo and just see what people were offering, but I thought I'd just ask what people thought about that before I start listing it on forums.

    It probably sucks for me to tell you this, but there's no way you'll get $750 for those, even if you paid $1500.

    I checked ebay but could not find anything.

    Yeah, after looking at the resale's for other stuff on audiogon I realized I might be luck to get just $500, now I'm debating if I just want to use it as a computer speaker setup. (have an old HK AVR40 I could use with it)

    I guess considering I have had it for over 5 years, I've gotten my worth outta it :)

    That would be a great computer rig, thats what I would suggest immediately. Keep Polk in the family ;)
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Way I figure it,

    A top of the line speaker system for the comp is $300-400, so for 100-200 more I have a speaker system that's gotta kick **** over the Klipsch (Promedia 5.1: $325) / Logitech (Z-680 5.1: $290) / Creative (Megaworks THX 650: $350) trio.

    So all I gotta wonder is - how can I output the video card to the HK AVR40? I have basic 2 or 3 signal headphone type outputs on the back. So just use a stereo headphone->stereo RCA's adapter and stick with 2 channel? Or have ppl done much comp to HT amp connections here?

    Exactly, mini-plug to RCA. A few people here have that type of rig now, including me. I run my Audigy 2 into a NAD Pre/Amp combo and it is absolutely fantastic.

    thats what i do as well, but I only have a 2 channel system. There are many soundcards out there that have a digital out, in fact if you have a fairly new computer, yours might have one as well, look in the user manual of the card. You will most likely need an optical cable that has a miniplug on one end and a TOSLINK plug on the other.

    Additionally, Harman Kardon makes a device called the DAL 150 that uses your computers USB audio out and converts it to a coaxial cable signal so you can send it to your receiver. There's plenty of them out there, don't pay more than 20 bucks for one.
