Curious to hear reviews of this one. I have the MOFI 24K gold version, wondering if anyone else does and can put the two head to head. In the few samples of 2496 samples that I've heard where I also have a Mobile Fidelity cd version, I've been hard pressed to feel like the cost justifies the difference. Some of the 24 bit stuff sounds amazing, but I haven't felt like there's an earth-shattering difference on older recordings.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

The original recordings were remixed by Tom Dowd in 1992, and remastered. The improvements are substantial. When the label released the SACD, it was taken from the original mix, which Dowd admitted was rushed through to make production. That was his reason for wanting to remix/remaster.

I sincerely hope the 24/96 version was taken from Dowd's '92 version. I've compared my '92 remasters to the SACD, and there is no contest. The '92 version is vastly better.

Edit: just noticed the hi rez version only has 7 tracks. 5 more songs are included on the '92. odd.
