Has anyone seen the new video by Bon Iver? It's called Calgary. My son did all the still photography, him and another guy lifted the girl in the video above the bed in that one scene and he helped paint all of the dead trees. It was mostly filmed in Justin Vernon's barn. My son's boots are still covered in mud. He thought it was a great experience. I just got the new album. I loved the first album and the follow-up ep. Interesting video. Congratulations to your son. Even if Justin Vernon can never reproduce the success of the first album, he has definitely had a positive influence on indie music.
Interesting that their new album came out almost the same time as the Antlers new album since both bands have had to make the transition of starting as one man bands and both use a lot of falsetto. Additionally both are bands you can see having a hard time coming up with an album to match the previous album. I think that the Antlers' Burst Apart was a success. It will be interesting to see if the new Bon Iver grows on me (right now it sounds too similar to For Emma, Forever Ago). -
I do wish him well. Everybody around here that meets him all agree that he is a regular guy that lives in an old house and eats at local diners. Not tabloid material, LOL.
