I am about ready to purchase new fronts and have decided on either the RTi A7 or the RTi A9. I will be powering the speakers with a Denon AVR 4310CI. I am confident I can run the A7's with no problem but am unsure with the A9's. My point being if I were to go with the A9's would I need to power them with an additional amp to see their full potential?

The more power the better, so yes an external amp is recommended but they'll sound good on your Denon. I ran mine on a Pioneer Elite avr without any problems. Definitely go with the A9's and later down the road when funds come available you can add an external amp. $400-$700 will get you a very nice used amp.

I have a 3311 and have both the rti a9s & a7s. Without an ampp they do sound good, but I found them to be a bt bright. I added an amp ant the mods and bass really came alive. It will sound good with just your receiver particularily if watching movies or two channel stereo, but I like to listen to music in multichannel where it sounds much better with an amp. With that said I would go with the rti a9's. They have a fuller sound. Hope this helps.

I have both the RTi A9 and A7 towers running off a Pioneer Elite SC-35. I'm fully satisfied after I made adjustments to the automatically calibrated program the MCACC sets.

You don't need a amp to get full clean powerful sound with this setup. However, an amp never hurts and could improve the sound just as any real upgrade to your system will.

I would recommend the RTi A9 or A7. If you are not buying a amp, I think you would driver the RTi A7's better off the AVR you already own.

If you have a really good sub, you could just go RTi A5's. If your are going to crossover the towers at 80Hz, RTi A5's is really all you need and a killer sub. They will play awesomely on a AVR with 100 watts.
