Looking at the following 2 amps the JL Audio XD 400/4 and the Massive Audio NX4. Both are small for my applicatio. Powering 4 Polk Audio MM 521 speakers with a JVC KD R720 head deck in a motorcycle fairing

I would go with the JL Audio as it is the more reputable brand in my opinion.

At a minimum, you would at least know that the amp will meet or exceed its power rating.

Well the Massive Audio puts out more watts. 4x100 vs 4x75 for the JL. The NX4 also gives you 24db slopes. I think for your application, you'd be better off with higher watts, as long as the NX4 actually makes the rated power and is not a crappy amp. Maybe someone here will know more about the Massive Audio. The JL of course is fine.

I thought you already had an amp for that setup?

Whichever is the most powerful. If the Massive is 100x4 and the JL is 75x4, Id get the Massive.

Massive Audio is also CEA compliant so, I think it would be safe to say that the watts should be correct. Also they are really close in size as well. I think the massive will be a bit longer, but that is about it.

    + 1 for Massive Audio.
Not sure what the price for it you were quoted but there's a few authorized dealers on DIYMA that sell them for cheaper then any other place i've seen.

I am not sure were the amp is going to fit in your motorcycel, but if water or moisture gets on/in the amp. That may cause it to fry so, you may need to find an amp that is more marine certified. However if there is a way for you put the amp in an area where very little moisture is gonig to get into, then you should be fine.

    Thanks.
