Psw 505
Hello, I'm new to Club Polk but have been a fan and own many of their products. I pulled the trigger earlier today on a PSW505. I did a ton of research on the net and think it will be a good upgrade from my current PSW10. I did not go bigger or better because my budget would not allow it. However I am curious why are there so many haters on the net for the PSW505. I know that the BIC F-12 keeps getting thrown at it but i could not find any head-to-head real world comparrison. Where does all the trash talking come from on the PSW505? Did I make a mistake?

You did NOT make a mistake. The 505 is a beast.
People like to take jabs at Polk subs, and in some cases with good reason...take your PSW10 for example (no offense, I had one too). But the 505 and the DSW's are an exception.
I am 100% sure you will be very happy with your purchase. -

Picked it up @newegg for $230 free shipping. The forums where I found tons of haters were AVS, Audioholics & Hardforum. I assumed it would be a step up from the PSW10 but they made it sound like there was so much better out there for the price. I'm sure I will be happy with it!
Just got my tracking number...yea!!Living Room

Do any of you use the speaker posts on the PSW505 for managing the Bass between the sub & Front speakers?
I have monitor 60's for fronts & have everything hooked up to my receiver, but based on what I was reading around, if I run the Front L & R speaker inputs to the Sub, it results in a much better sound...
Trying to figure out if its worth me trying this set up or not. I feel that if I Bi-amped the Monitor 60's so that the high's were fed from the receiver and the lows were fed through the sub, that would give me the best balance...
Maybe I'm just thinking too much about it though... -

Maybe you've been hanging out on the wrong forums for 'sound' advice

Don`t do that if you have a weakest link it is your receiver , by the way what receiver are you talking about ? -
I have the 505 and absolutely love it. Used mostly for tv and home theatre, it really does the job.
My nephew was over the other day playing Black Ops Zombies and there is a part in there when you grab a bomb power up and it makes a very intensive, long bass sound. It made me happy when he looked at me with a "Whoa, what was that?!!" face.
Enjoy the 505, I think you will like it. Money well spent. -

I have a VSX 1020 right now, but am going to upgrade to the VSX 1121 (whenever it comes out) -

So even easier let the receiver handle your your speakers and sub , i have the feeling that you read everything backwards  plus the monitors dont need to be bi-amped if i had maybe top of the line speakers i would think about it if i was only running a 5.1 , but there even manufacturers with high-end speakers that don`t believe in biamping -
Love my PSW505

I have had mine in my HT room for about three months and LOVE it, saw Newegg had them for $209.00 + free shipping yesterday and pulled the trigger on a second one. I think for the $$ it is a great sub. If you have $600-800 to spend, sure I think there is better. I know you will enjoy this sub, I have.H/T Set-up
