Does anyone know what the deal with the company Integra is? Is it just Onkyo with a different name & a few extra features? It seems to me that is the case, as their receivers look exactly the same, save for the grey volume & selector knobs on the Integras.

What gives,

Later,

    Hey Greg,
Yeah it's Onkyo, supposed to have better internal path componets, higher grade wire and the like. Like Sonys ES and Pioneers Elite, ECT.

Its higher end gear, their elite line.. as stated above. You can't run to Circuit city to buy it.. Its kinda hard to find actually. I have only 2 auth dealers near me that sell it. so does that make it better? who knows. I like my Integra but the new Separetes line looks fantastic!! Way to pricey in my eyes compared to say Rotel or such, like 5000.00 for a pre and amp...

    Nice gear though,

Yeah, Stuff an Faster are on here. I also know Integra's come with better capacitors, and ALL connections on ALL models are gold plated.

Then there's one step above integra - Integra Research. There's only three items: A preamp, An Amp, and a DVD player

I just happen to have an Integra DTR 7.1 sitting in my closet if anyone is interested in buying one.

It's all packaged in its original packaging and I'm just too lazy to make an effort to sell it. If someone comes along with a reasonable offer, I will part with it otherwise guess I'll use it for a second system in the kids tv room.
Made the mistake of buying the receiver before I upgraded speakers and didn't think about matching the two. LSi's don't like most receivers as much as they like separates, which I now have. Too bad 'cause this receiver is a nice unit, just can't deal with 2 ohm speakers.
    Cheers,
    Rick
