Audioengine S8 Subwoofer - Black - 10/10 - *SOLD*
Here's a great little subwoofer to compliment either the Audioengine A5 loudspeakers I have for sale in another thread or to add-on to another, existing system. I've heard a handful of other mini-subs like the Pinnacle Baby Boomer, Glow Audio, the subwoofers included with the Surround Bar systems as well as the PSW111 and this is just a bit better than all of them. Specifically in honest low end extension and from a more refined, custom driver. While the Glow Audio is more musical, it doesn't hit as hard @ < 30hz, but that's because they're both different designs when you get into the nuts and bolts.
This hasn't been opened and I only cracked the A5 speakers for inspection and pics. I heard the entire Audioengine lineup at a dealers' house and was impressed enough to purchase a bunch of them yet my personal project didn't materialize. That being the case, the pics are stock from the website but if you need assurance of my past sales, check out my feedback....well, if it even works yet. I'm also on Audiogon and eBay under the same name and my reputation here is untouchable when it comes to the flea market.
This is wireless ready so it can be setup to run anywhere in any room with an adapter. I found that invaluable personally and am glad that Polk started to cover their entire lineup with a wireless option. The only thing I didn't like was the plastic spikes but they serve the same purpose either way. They can easily be changed to some super nice brass ones from Myesound, so that's hardly a lasting issue.
