A stroll down memory lane!

It is funny how things play out in life but the road that leads us sometimes goes full circle. Back when I first got into audio I acquired some RT35i powered by a Yamaha receiver - working 10 hours a day in construction with my Dad at age twelve making 30 bucks a day! The next year I got a raise at 35 bucks! Wooo hoo! Well as time went on my taste changed but my RT35i speakers hung around until I went through the Def Tech phase and eventually I sold the entire system to a friend.
I always regretted selling the speakers as they were my first set of speakers - the very first and I used and abused those bad boys!!
Well today I get a text from my friend asking if I just wanted the whole setup back and I was like hell yeah! (She is home from college and needs more room) - I gave the entire system (Yamaha, CDP, Rack, surrounds, etc to a buddy who expecting a baby and he loves HT!) and I kept my ol reliable Polks.. still banging it out after all these years!
So I get them home and quickly throw things together and let them rip!
Boy these things dont disappoint - just something about this older RT series I like. I still say I like the earlier series far more than the newer stuff.
Good ol classic chesty midbass thats a little muddy but provides enough clarity to allow some finer things shine through but for rock music they just rip it!
Good smooth treble and decent staging....
Boy what a fun nostalgia trip!
I think I am going to hold on to these bad boys this time!!

A stroll down memory lane!
You've only just begun. :biggrin:Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."
President of Club Polk -
Luckily as far as ownership goes my audio journey is shallow as far as going down memory lane..
I have acquired more gear in the last... 19 days than the last 9 years! lol- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
