I'm out at the lake a few times a year and always end up borrowing one (never fits right), mostly for jet skiing, but I think it's time I got my own. I saw a nice Body Glove one at Sports Authority for $60 (it's a bit snug though). PFD III.

Besides reading about them online, any recommendations on fit?

PFD III good enough or should I get PFD II in case I bang my head and end up floating face down?

Body Glove okay or am I paying for the name brand?

Any recommendations?

I will never take it out to sea/ocean. This is strictly for tooling around on the lakes/rivers.

Thx

PFDIII for watersports. Just go to Walmart and get a Stearns. Make sure the size works for you and your weight range. $30-$40 should get you a nice one.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

The thinnest approved neo vest that fits real snug during a dry fit. Every vest gets loose when wet, you just need it very tight when trying it in the store. It needs to fit you and no one else. I personally like a vest that has thin pads under the arm pit to give lots of freedom, and I prefer a big nylon zipper in the front in addition to buckles, but that is just me. 40 years of the old orange crap jackets, ski belts, thick padded **** and competition neo vests in my past and just like anything else, quality may cost you some $$$. If it isn't comfy, you won't wear it.

Body Glove, HO, Obrien, O'neill lots of good brands.

Bought a small Body Glove, black with green lettering, thin sides, snug fit. I'd forgotten that they expand a bit in the water so a Med would not work (bunched up when I pulled the nylon tight). Would have preferred blue but that's my vain side. Also bought BG Rashguard short and long sleeve shirts for sun protection (dislike sunscreen and i never remember to reapply). Good grief, I'm not 25 anymore (5 more lbs to go). LoL

    Thx guys.
