The guy claims 2or 3 drivers per speak, maybe mor, no idea make or model and several wires are used by speaks.
Just wants some smaller speaks and help mounting in corners of house, I know, I know, I am no longer gullible, more BS than beef in classifieds.
These are app 51in. tall and i think 38 wide.
Will try to retrieve pics, if you know what they are, better or worse chime in.
Yeah sorry about sideways pic, and title was to make it easier for me to retrieve from comp.

No idea, but more pictures and/or info is always helpful in the quest for answers.
-
Is that an end table that he is advertising as a speaker?
-
Look homemade to me, at least while they're sideways they do.
-
Maggies???
-
-
Looks like a steam radiator cover. lol
If they're really speakers they have to be some DIY project from who knows when?

no idea but looks quite interesting to me. Might be some decent drivers inside.
-
Here's a rightside up picture that ..... doesn't really help either.
Futzed with the saturation, hue, intensity, contrast, etc and ....
This can't be a Magnepan anything; too wide, too "woody", too .... WTH ?
Original pic:
Pic pointing out some "stuff" (okay, it was done with 'Paint")
- Plywood ?
- Missing/damaged veneer/spacer piece ?
- Heat damaged/blister veneer ? Mahogany ?
- Piece looks 'attached' to cabinet, but WTH is it ?
Kind of agree with gdb's thought: Homemade.
Somebody's antique armoire/chifferobe/pie cabinet () that they "modified".
It would be very interesting to find out what's behind that grill.Sal Palooza -
You know, this is the kind of thing that drives me crazy; yeah, I know: "Short Trip !".
You didn't say where you came across these, Scottyboy, but took a shot at perhaps something on Craigslist somewhere in Georgia.
After half a dozen cities, looking for "vintage speaker", came across this:
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/msg/2444765349.html
Now, you take that type of Leslie Organ speaker off the furniture dolly, put some vertical molding along the sides, circle-cut some holes for drivers, throw in some plywood (?) here and there, add some grill cloth, and ..... VOILA ! 2 Things:
1. You oughta be shot
2. You have yourself some home grown speakers.
...... I really hope somebody can come up with an answer. :redface:Sal Palooza -
The ad was in cl atl., stockbridge would be a keyword.
Would have included other 2 pics in ad, but they were just farther away, showing both speaks.
Kinda felt homemade to me, not just looks, but vague description, and how little the y wanted in return, just emailed to try to get more info, just for kicks.
Wish i knew how to transfer web images or text to something like cp using vista, others tried helping me here before, and, of course, it wouldnt work.humpty dumpty was pushed -
Thanks for that info; the more you think about it, mhardy may be right. There might be some interesting drivers inside.
"I am raising children now and need the space more than I need club speakers in my kitchen."
Club speakers. Hmmm. Hard to tell, but he might have some good old vintage stuff. And all he wants is a couple of speakers in exchange and a possible hook up his stereo/tv/dvd player. 30 minutes for a hookup wouldn't take much effort.
Now, he has a couple of kids (assume he's telling the truth: check refrigerator ) so you wouldn't want to go over there with a couple of R15's. You don't have to go over there with a set of LSi25's, but ......
you be the judge. As always, if I'm spending your time, effort, money, and or gear, then the sky's the limit !!
Be interesting if he knew where these speakers came from. I'm guessing some old time bar with a name like, "The StageCoach", or "Wagon Wheel" or some sort of country bar.
Thanks for checking this stuff out; this is kind of cool.
And remember: spare no time and expense !Sal Palooza -
Takin it all in, agree with all you conjecture about, kinda lookin forward to hearin the story if he responds, this, by the way, is in george daniels neck o woods.humpty dumpty was pushed

Lady responded, her uncle built these 10-12 years ago, sent pics of terminals in back of speak, wires coming out of wall behind speaks, and a connector bar on wall in bedroom, where he apparently relayed a bunch of wires to different speaks.
Still intrigued by what drivers are in there, the guy seemed to put a lot of work into cabs, but i aint drivin halfway across state to find out.
She said she tried to get the backs off, and would get husband to try after work, which i told her to not do, doubt they were meant to be taken apart, would hate for them to ruin them for my curiosity.
but here are the picshumpty dumpty was pushed -

Homebuilt most likely means poorly balanced sound regardless of drivers used. The value in these could be in the bare drivers. You may find some rare Altec, JBL, or Tannoy that would be worth something.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

I have seen many home built things I found 70% cheap or dead , 20% left is okay , 10% could be a awesome find and the $$ will be in the drivers ,
So if its free or like $20 wont take tons of gas $$ I would go for it .
Ask if you could hear them , my car stereo has multiple hookup locations so-as I can test w/that . -
you are not considering these are you?JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

They look like adjustment pots.....most likely now a source of more noise/static than useful adjustment.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

I mean, you live right there, damn, ask one favor.
Seriously, just saw them and wondered if they were sleepers, or even factory made, just intrigued.
By the way, will be at jerrys sat, just might have a couple extra burgers.humpty dumpty was pushed -
