At US Airways Center in Phoenix. One of my favorite bands of all time, and always a fun (and long) live show. Anybody seen them on this tour? Anyone seeing them tonight?

You will love this show dude. I've seen them a whole lot of times, for almost 30 years now. I have to say, they literally sound as good or better as they ever have. I have walked out of every show thinking they sound great, but I can definitely say that they have not lost a bit. Geddy can still hit the highs like he's got a vice grip around the cahones. Neil still plays the drums like nobody else can, and Alex just wails. Get there on time, there's some great video stuff that they do before each of the sets.

I'm sure you're aware that you're seeing Moving Pictures from start to finish, I'm not divulging any state secrets there. It is fantastic. To see Moving Pictures start to finish was great for me, that was the "current" album at the time I got into them, showing my age a bit... I especially enjoyed the (in vinyl terms) second side of the album. The first four songs have always been concert staples, but I've never heard the last three songs live before. They did a great job with them, with some amazing videography to go along. I saw them in Madison Square Garden in NYC - you'll see during the videos for The Camera Eye why that was a great place to see the show.

Have fun, hope you have good seats!
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I'm totally looking forward to it as well. I'll age myself a bit too. I think Moving Pictures was when I first became aware of Rush, but I didn't really get into them, until a couple of years later when a friend played 2112 for me on the newly installed cassette deck in his 1976 Chevy Impala. This will be my 4th time seeing them. Unfortunately I don't have great seats, because I cheaped out so a friend who was supposed to go with me could afford them.

Yes and then some! I wish I had paid for better seats, but still really glad I went. I thought the stage design, lighting, videos, and pyrotechnics were great. The show didn't start off so great. I did really enjoy the video intros, but the sound was muddy and distorted at first, and it seemed to me that Geddy Lee used opener (Spirit of Radio) to warm up his voice instead of warming up before the show. He missed a bunch of notes and seemed to be singing in a completely different key than they were playing in. The crew seemed to be struggling with getting the sound right throughout the first set. I did enjoy the song selection in the first set. I especially liked the song Marathon.

Second set was like a different show. It was so cool to see them play Moving Pictures from start to finish. Hearing those songs in that sequence brought back a lot of great memories and really set a nice mood for the rest of the show. They really seemed to enjoy playing it as well. Neil Peart is usually pretty deadpan, but he was all smiles when they were playing Tom Sawyer. For me, the video clips of the band during Tom Sawyer were among the funniest things I have ever seen. Also, the sound was totally dialed in for the second set. I also really liked the new song Caravan, that they played in the second set. The whole second set of the concert was so good. The encores were fantastic too, with great arrangements of La Villa Strangiato and Working Man. Working Man is not one of my favorite Rush songs, but the arrangement was so cool. They basically transformed the song, and I loved it.

Best part of the show, was I got to take my 12 yr old son to his first real Rock concert and first Rush show. He really liked it too.

Go see them this tour if at all possible.
