Velodyne Sub LFE circuit dead?

I have been using my "Velodyne VRP 1200" Sub Woofer with speaker level inputs, for a few years and it works great with my old 2 channel setup.

I recently added the "Outlaw Audio 950" pre/processor and all was fine using the speaker input level on the sub ....

I finally received the "Y" splitter & LFE RCA cable today, to use on the sub out/LFE line level input on the Velodyne VRP 1200 Sub Woofer ....
I installed the new cable and nodda .... no sound at all ....

I then checked the speaker config on the Outlaw pre to make certain the sub was on ... yep

I then tried a different shorter RCA cable, that I know is working to the sub out, (just in case I got a new but bad cable), and still no sound from the sub?

Then I tried the line out left & right RCA's that was going to my amp ....
because I know for sure there is signal there .... yet no sound ????

So if I covered all my testing bases ....
the line level circuit part of this sub is dead???
Because it works fine on speaker level input..

Any thoughts.... did i miss something?

Well I have done some additional testing on the Outlaw pre/proc
since I am using only 2 channel stereo
I have added speaker settings ... to small Center speaker & Sub woofer on ...
in digital mode, (I tried them all) .

    To test the Pre/proc ..
    I moved my L & R speakers to
    1 speaker on center output
1 speaker on the LFE or sub output

then set the Outlaw to Channel Calibrate ...
test tones to each speaker ...
an did not get any tone to the sub?

So I assume it could also be the Outlaw pre's LFE not working?
Or am I missing a setting someplace?

    Ideas please.....

Not sure if this is even a valid thought, but in reading the above, I wonder what the test tone freq. is, and what your main's lower responce is. Could be that the test tone would not be heard even if it was working.

I think you can try an output directly from a CD player or any source that you can control the volume level on with some base heavy music on a low level setting and see if the sub responds. Not looking for much just anything to show it is not dead. Other than that maybe Google the sub and Outlaw for any common problems like yours. Maybe someone else has some better ideas.
    Good Luck

    Tony,
I haven't forgotten about you. I am swamped at work right now due to unforseen issues with a coworker. Once I can help you troubleshoot I will call you. Hopefully someone else can chime in with an easy fix. I have to think it is a setting that we are missing. There is a switch on the back of the unit that sends all LFE signals to the sub. Make sure that is on. If not, it might be sending the signal to your speakers. Have you tried to adjust the dB level higher on the sub output from the On Screen Display? Also, what volume is the sub? Maybe bump up the volume? Is the sub on standby? Sometimnes the signals are too weak to trigger auto-on feature. Have you tried manually turning on the sub?

I'm not clear on your connection, but the LFE input on the sub should be the only connection from your receiver. The LFE input has no filters and will play everything sent to it, whereas the other line inputs do.

ONLY the LFE input should have a connection to it.
