That's the number of nuclear tests and explosions that took place between 1945 and 1998.
Here's a video that shows the timeline plotted visually and audibly on a world map.

It is 10 minutes long.
It is, IMO, very worthy of a view, even at 10 minutes.

Kind of slow to start with. Hang in there if you would.
Sort of like the opening of "North by Northwest" by Alfred Hitchcock in a way.
Different than the norm, but .... worth it, IMO.

P.S. There's no cats involved in this video (sorry !), nor any Excorcist pop-ups, or anything else.

Perhaps make yourself a turkey sandwich, some chips on the side, and your beverage of choice; it should take 10 minutes to consume that while you view this.

P.P.S. And nobody will ask you to join Tree-Huggers 'R US or Luv The Whales.
P.P.P.S. No hidden agenda, no "We Bad !", no "Vote for McGovern" plan, etc.

Month/Year displayed in the upper right corner.

    That is neat.

And the people from California were freaking out about a nuclear plant clear across the pacific ocean.

That was pretty cool. I can't imagine how much we spent on this. 1032 atomic explosions just by the US alone. No wonder California is going to fall off the map.
