Just curious if anyone else has had problems calibrating their speakers using the new multieq from Audyssey. I bought a new Onkyo 3008 but had to send it back because the system wouldn't auto calibrate my speakers.

On another website someone said that it might be time to upgrade my speakers. I really like my Polk RT2000i mains and don't want to upgrade right now.

Just curious if anyone with older speakers has had problems with the auto Audyssey speaker set up on new receivers?

yeah it was weird my Onkyo 806 had no problem with the auto Audessy set up but the minute I upgraded to the Onkyo 3008 I kept getting a speaker error and it wouldn't complete the calibration. I checked all my speaker connections and everything was fine.

So one of the members on another site said it was because my speakers were too old. Are 12 year old speakers really that old for the new receivers?

Why would it matter how old the speakers are? I think you got a defective AVR.

Does not matter how old the speakers are as long as they are functioning properly. It's the speakers impedance or ohms you have to watch.

Somethings wrong with your Onkyo, I had an Audyssey mic break on mine before could be something like that. Sorry to hear about that but don't get rid of those Rt2000i's just yet:wink:

No,your speakers aren't too old and that wouldn't matter anyway as long as they are functioning properly.

Definitely had to have been an AVR issue...
