I have contacted a local reseller of polk, and he contacted Polk in California re orderring new mid drivers for my 1B's. What I was hoping is that one of you can confirm that the new drivers will come with rubber surrounds as part of the driver. It looks like they would but I just want to be sure prior to ordering.

Thanks

I was talking to the guy who has ordered my new replacement drivers from Polk in California. He said he spoke with a guy named Angel, who says they have been out of stock on the MW6509's for years but one of the other MW drivers will work. Is this true??

Just remember to check the screw holes and make sure the butyl surround was properly trimmed. If the surround has any material still in the basket screw hole when you tighten them the surround will distort and most likely tear.

This is a known issue with newly manufactured Polk MW drivers. Simple use of an exacto knife will remove any left over rubber in the screw openings of the basket.

Yes, on the MW6509, but it's not an "exact" replacement electrically. I'm sure it;s close enough not to make a difference or Polk wouldn't have recommended it.
