As some of you know, I worked for Verizon Wireless and usually end up with phones that I have no use for every year. Here are a couple more....
Motorola Droid - 8-9/10 - $60/each...including shipping to the CONUS
This is the original Motorola Droid(A855) NOT the HTE aka, the cheaper whatever model. Moto makes the heavier, more robust model which is built to withstand a small nuclear blast. This is one of the best phones I've owned in 17 years in telecommunications and the Android operating system is just as good if not better than Apple. This is 3G capable and
I have two of these in black that have always had screen protectors and cases on them. One was for my wife, one was for me. Mine has more wear than hers in the form of a very small nick here or there but it's been cared for since it was my personal phone. Hers' is pretty much flawless. They are unlocked and 100% able to be immediately activated on any Verizon Wireless contract.
I have a PINK hard plastic case off hers' and a soft BLACK leather holster(NIB) for mine @ $5/each. If you buy them both phones, they're FREE.
I'm giving first preference to the individual who picks up both phones, since it's easier and gets everything down the road in one shot.

can it be used a just a regular ie no internet phone while utilizing the good camera capabilities, music, pics, ect... ? I use verizon but do not want a data plan as a requirement to activate on account. My wife just got a Droid 2 global I believe. She loves it, but I'm more of a no frills answer when it rings and text when necesarry kind of user. I would appreciate a better camera built into the phone to negate having to take my digital camera everywhere.2-ch System: Parasound P/LD 2000 pre, Parasound HCA-1000 amp, Parasound T/DQ Tuner, Phase Technology PC-100 Tower speakers, Technics SL-1600 Turntable, Denon 2910 SACD/CD player, Peachtree DAC iT and X1asynchorus USB converter, HSU VTF-3 subwoofer. -
Unfortunately, no. They require the data plan even tho' in reality is doesn't have to have it. I always find that annoying and a bait and switch type of business practice. I wish I could help you man since as a camera it's great and the features are endless when it comes to being a phone.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Page Plus Cellular uses the Verizon pre-paid network and should work.
They offer $30/month 1200 minute, 2000 text, 100 MB data plan:

Thanks for the info Doro. My wife has only had her's for a week so I'll play with it some and maybe change my mind and decide if I want to change my plan. Does it have GPS and if so how effective is it compared to a $100 low end Garmin? Good luck with the sale and I know that's a great price, but for now I'll watch from the sidelines.2-ch System: Parasound P/LD 2000 pre, Parasound HCA-1000 amp, Parasound T/DQ Tuner, Phase Technology PC-100 Tower speakers, Technics SL-1600 Turntable, Denon 2910 SACD/CD player, Peachtree DAC iT and X1asynchorus USB converter, HSU VTF-3 subwoofer.

TN - Yes, it's VZ Navigator ready and has GPS. It's more accurate than my Garmin and we usually use the phones instead of it because of that.
Rooftop - No idea but I'm sure someone has figured it out.
Mshan - Thanks for posting that information as it might be helpful to somone that can use that option for these phones.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Just an FYI as well - Although my wife doesn't have a "smartphone" - she does have a multimedia phone that also requires a data plan (the $10 one, not the unlimited). It was REQUIRED when I bought the phone a year ago. I called Verizon the other day, and they said "there are ways" of them turning it off, so I said do it. No more data for her. Could work on the Droid too I would expect.65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

Curious, these are wi-fi capable, right? One could buy it and load up free android apps/games and let the kids use it at home on their own wifi, no? Like an iTouch, and forget the phone part? I've gotten behind on a bill on my phone before, and can still Facebook, check the weather, play games etc when connected to my router at home.
Just a thought.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
I'll play with it tonight and see what you can do for free. Yes, it is wi-fi ready and capable.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Yes, I just connected to my home network and can do everything including call someone thru Skype. There's access to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc etc. Thanks for the idea Russman as I didn't think to check that at all. In that case, this is an excellent phone to give to a kid or if you just wanted to use it for navigation you could use Google Earth or Google Maps.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. With the wi-fi you can also use them as Squeezebox and Roku remotes via the android apps for those devices. Much cheaper than other options at the price being asked. I currently have the same phone and will keep it to use as a Squeezebox remote when I upgrade to a 4G phone.DKG999

Scompracer - I got you on the wife model....does that mean you want the case as well? +$5, and I think Pink is your color.
Aqs612scag - I seriously don't think there's that much difference between them. I'll send mine to you, if you think it's not up to your quality control, we'll work something out. Just hold off on payment. Do you want the case as well? +$5.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Depends on the shade. I had a nice salmon coloured dress shirt that dialed in nicely with a Black pinstriped suit.
If Aqs612scag doesn't want the Pink case, I'll take it.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
