Just got off the phone with Roland today 4cst. Sad news is that Rita is out of business :frown: seems for personal reasons she called it.. retirement or something. Bob has sold the building she was in and Sunfire called Roland to start fixing all the subs...Guess it is good news/bad news for Roland as I know he has been one busy guy as of late...just an FYI I spose

Just as well IMO, I've heard enough Rita stories to make me think that it was a high priced, hit or miss proposition all the way around. Meanwhile, Rolland has been consistently doing Carver repairs with great reviews all along.

Is this Rita's Vintage Audio? I have a Sunfire Mark II sub that is supposed to go there this week for repair... If they are closed down, who would I contact for repairs in the future?

Does Roland do all the Carver repairs and "freshening up" of older but still functioning amps? I always wanted to get my vintage m1.5t amp the once over, replacing anything worn and outdated. I know I could use some up to date speaker terminals and the originals won't take the new cables I bought about 2 years ago.

If you have any contact info, please post!
    No excuses!

Found out Roland is with Hi-Tech Audio in Gresham, OR...503-618-7605... called him up, they have a eight week backlog and it's getting larger since he is getting Rita's customers... Their site shows that they do mod work on the Carver amps...

Although we have serviced Carver for the past 30+ years, it is our privilege to have been hand picked by SUNFIRE Corporation to provide authorized Carver service for the entire line of Carver products. This is due to our reputation of providing the absolute best service available, we just will not cut corners, and proved to be the most reliable choice for servicing this vintage product, we also purchased at this time the entire OEM parts inventory to ensure absolute peak performance of all your Carver products. We also have the OEM parts for the Phase Linear products, and like the Carver products we have been servicing the Phase Linear products for 30 plus years as well.

Contrary to the nasty rumors flying around, Rita's Vintage Audio IS NOT CLOSED!! We are alive and well and open for business! We have simply changed our name. We are now "Bob Carver's Audio Service". We have moved to a new location. Our new address is: 721 Avenue D, Suite D
Snohomish, WA 98290. In addition to servicing Carver and Sunfire products, we are now also accepting pro audio gear for repair. For those who are interested, Rita is currenty on an extended leave, no date yet on her return. In her absence, Randy Matthiessen, who was an essential part of the service teamat both Carver and Sunfire, will be working on all the Carver equipment sent to us for repair. Bill Flannery who was the lead tech at Sunfire, will continue to repair all the Sunfire gear. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to call us at 360-568-4700. If you wish you can email Randy at: randy@carverservice.com or Bill at: bill@carverservice.com.

Will you guys be rebuilding the ribbons for the Carver AL series of speakers? The last I heard was that you will repair the amps for the Sunfire subs but can not get replacement drivers. Is this still true? I have two subs in need of repair. Thanks and welcome!!!!

Well i glad to hear this. Guess i'll give them a call to see what a complete recap of my C16pre-amp will cost as compared to Roland. I have had a very good experiance with Roland and had to send my TFM25 back to Rita for a re-fix although no fault of hers they just bought a bad batch of parts. For them to contact me to send back(after the year warranty) was beyond what 90% of other repair places would have done.
