I think those MC THX cables are just market driven. Joe schmo sees that the cables are THX certified, and says "Oh that's what I should use!"

They are also thinner than the higher end MC, so that alone makes me wonder about their construction details.

I would stick with your current cables, or go into a MC Video 3 series.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Go with Video 2 or Video 3.

The THX cables are overpriced Radio shack ones - the have no R&D in them, and they are literally all the same except for the color they paint the ends. you might as well buy a composite A/V kit and use if for component if you want to go that route. Doro is right in that they are just a marketing hype.

4' THX for $80 <- Ripoff (very suprised to see this from a retailer)

6' Video 2 for $69 <- Much better (standard retail price)

6' Video 3 for $89 <- Even better yet (standard retail price)

We just brought in a couple of the THX cables in the 4 ft legnth, They are very skinny & compared to the THX Ultra cable they look cheep. Id reccomend the the THX ultra is you want the THX line, if not we use Z300 component, Z300 s vid on our system & reccomend that to our customers. I dont know what your budget is but I feel you can get better than the cheep thx cables offered. I have not tested the lowest grade thx cable yet so I couldnt give you a review of the cable. I will probably hook it up to our sony HTIB sytem & see what it does.

ok, i'm not a huge fan of the MC marketing machine.. but i do use Monster Video 3's S-video on all my video connections. It was a good improvement over the skinny RS S-video ones.

As for interconnets. I think MC makes some decent cables.. not agrument there... but how can you make a cable THX? What makes it THX quality over say their other ones? Is it thicker? yeah maybe. It is what? I find that if a cable is listed as THX build or quality... i'm very suspicious of it. Plus the added price, just doesn't make sense to me.

Would I purchase a cable/wire because it says THX on it? prob not.
