I bought a set of TSi100's and so far I really like them. I do think they could be a measure better in their brightness, and would like to tweek the tweeters, either the units themselves, or the XO.

Anybody done anything with TSi100 speakers?

Cheers,
David

For the cost, and trouble, you should have just steped up to the RTiA1,,, BTY, Why buy speakers,, and want to tweak them?
Not an Audiophile, just a dude who loves music, and decent gear to hear it with.

Good questions, at the time these fit the budget. I really like them, but figured in time I could tweak them for less $$$ than than buying another pair...

Tweaking speakers is where it is at
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

    word brotha.

i say go for it. mod that ****.

i just got into the monitor series. not flagship, entry level.

sooo, i started learning here and started spending time with them, they sound better each time i reassemble them.

i am going to do mods to these xo with base parts because there is no need to put in MR caps but i say go for the experience so then you can take apart your next speakers and make them go faster.

    esr:biggrin:
    AVR: Sony 5600ES
Center: CS2II (Clarity Caps PX, Perfect Lay coil, Mundorf resistors)
Front: Monitor 70 II (Clarity Caps PX, Perfect Lay coils, Mundorf resistors)
Surrounds: Monitor 40 II (Clarity Caps PX, Perfect Lay coil, Mundorf resistors)
Rear Surrounds: Monitor 40 II (Clarity Caps PX, Perfect Lay coil, Mundorf resistors)

    More to come

I understand the TSi100 is very similar to the Monitor 30. You could definitely get a better cap for the tweeter in the crossover but consider the cost. I don't know if you can get a better tweeter that would fit.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

The tweeter in the Rti series is more robust and detailed. As said above, you'd be better off tweaking that. Not sure how much mileage you're going to get from a TSI-100 if you're concerned about the highs.
