whats a good cd or dvd player for audio

was wondering is there a good cd only or even a dvd player for around $500 for playing cd's. looking to find something better than my carver tlm3600.

Lots of good things are said about OPPOs, I still use Carver & Kyocera antiques and have never heard an oppo myself.

Lot of "buzz" bout this Chinese one. Yaqin SD32A Supposed to be around your price and it sure is impressive looking at least. Why're you not getting an SD/A-490 ?

The Jolida JD-100 is a sweet CD player, its a bit over your price range ($699 thru Jolida.net) but well woth it. Replace the stock tubes with some psvane's and you will be one happy camper.

On a side note, I purchased this unit from Jolida.net about 3 months ago and I only paid $569.

Have you ever considered a music server system? I can highly recommend a Sonos or Squeezebox as a great replacement for a CD player. Rip all your CD's to FLAC & played thru these systems is superb...you won't regret it.
