Just pmd op about some sda1as with one ic plug on one speaker that is wrung off, does not sound good, how does a push pull plug wring off a receptacle?

Can they be had pretty readily?how bad to actually do the work to replace?

Not worried about stated probs with grill cloth, could not seem to bring myself to ever cover my old 2bs when i had em.

Also, how are these regarded in general in the sda lineup?

Sold my 2bs just before buying my adcom separates, always wondered how they sound powered by something other than avr.

Thanks in advance

Scott.

    Hay Scottyboy!

You can always just replace the complete male and female connectors with something like an XLR connector, or anything for that matter, so long as it is good quality locking connection with 2 conductors in it. Looks like they could use a clean up.

I have a friend who has a set of these, and they Rock! In each box you have a tweeter and driver for the stereo array, a tweeter and a driver for the SDA array and two drivers used as bass drivers, then the passive radiator! These will take more power than the 2Bs'. We have been able to get numerous people on the Polk wagon when they hear these.

If it all works and they have a decent seal, hard to go wrong for $150. You will never know until you hear them (in a correct setup) for yourself.

    Just another $0.02 worth.

    Good luck man!

Read and look closer....the speaker terminals were wrung off, a fairly easy thing to do if they protrude beyond the outermost surface of the terminal cup/cabinet. The ends of the IC cable are a little mangled but working. All of these items are easily renewed, replaced or better still, upgraded. I paid $267.00 for 1As in comparable shape and I'd do it again.

This guy lives near athens ga. which is quite a ways farther than the quite a ways we would have to drive just to get to atlanta, have yet to decide, but it does seem like a good price for repairable speaks.

If he was anywhere near me I would go for it. the repair is easy enough and heck I would upgrade that anyway.
