subwoofer life expectancy

I currently have a pair of RT800i's and was considering replacing them with the RT2000i's. I know that powered subwoofers cannot be made to last forever, but I don't think my wife would let me replace the speakers every 10 years. Does anyone have a vague estimate on how long the powered sub in the 2000's will last? My dad bought some polk M11's (I think) in the early 90's and they still sound as good as the day he bought them IMO. Can I expect the same from the RT2000i's with daily use? I would much rather replace 1 sub than 2 loudspeakers. Thanks.

    Hi Piety-

I too have a pair of 800's. Very clean and clear sounding. I too thought of getting a set of 2000's for my second set (fronts for HT). But after comparing them to the 1000's, decided the 1000's sounded better to me.
The 2000's seemed too heavy on bass, and on music with more highs they sounded muddy.
I like the way my 1000's and 800's blend,
more bass and more highs respectively.
